Vintage Black Bear Thermometer Hand Carved Ainu Wooden Plaque Hokkaido Japan

Vintage wooden wall plaque with thermometer The plaque depicts a black bear climbing a tree. It is hand carved. The bear, leaves, and some grapes have all been hand painted. The plaque is 6-1/8″ tall, 4″ wide, and slightly less than 3/8″ thick. There is a loop for hanging on the back. The lightweight wood is most likely basswood. The plaque appears to have been made by the Anui people as a souvenir from Hokkaido, Japan. The thermometer portion has gold-toned metal. It is a bit more than 1-1/4″ in diameter. The thermometer works although it may be off by a degree or two. Please see photos.
